Pastor stops robbery in Evansville

by pulling a gun on the perp, who apparently didn’t actually have a weapon.

While I applaud the pastor for refusing to be a victim, his statement that he “wasn’t going to hurt [the perp]” troubles me.  I was always taught that if you point a gun at someone, you’d better be prepared to kill him.  If you think just sticking a gun in somebody’s face is going to stop them if they don’t want to be stopped, you have another think coming — particularly if they’re armed as well.

I really don’t think this story would have ended well if the perp had been carrying a gun instead of a plastic spoon.  Pastor Sanders would be well-advised to reconsider his idea of what carrying a gun is all about.
