Well, it’s been three weeks since I tossed Farcebork overboard.
Can’t say as I’ve missed it.
This is something more of us need to do. I left behind a couple of communities I care for quite a bit. My wife is not on MeWe. My daughter is not on MeWe. A lot of my meatspace friends who are on FB have not made the switch. Groups on which I was an admin are still there, presumably, with other admins taking up the load.
Any platform that can become so much a part of someone’s life that they cannot easily break ties to it is a clear and present danger to freedom. And Americans need to walk away from such platforms, regardless of the attachments they may have formed that make walking away difficult.
