To all veterans within the sound of my voice

Happy Veterans’ Day!
What Og said.
To my Dad and my uncles Jack and Bud, who fought the Hun in Europe, and to my Uncle Carl Mills, who drove a SeeBee bulldozer in the Pacific War and ended up in a Japanese prison camp for his pains. All four still beat the odds, made it home safely, and lived more or less happily ever after. Well done, good and faithful servants.
To my cousin Danny, the submariner, may he rest in peace; and to my cousin LCDR Max Mills, with whom I never spent enough time, may he also rest in peace.
To the LTC, the major, and the captain I met on the DC Metro a couple of years ago. I said it then and I’ll say it again: Thanks for all you do.
Don’t let the hippies get you down.
