I get the greatest phishing spam.

I mean, between the French and Argentinian commercial spam* I get daily on my work account, and the obviously-fake traffic court and now eviction notices I've been getting there as well, here at home I just got a funeral notice** with a link to click to find out whom it was for.  Which I'm sure, of course, leads directly to a compromised computer and a trojan horse.

If only spammers and phishers had a single neck.  I'd cut it through.

* The Argentinian spam is almost always for computer gear.  Like someone in the States working for a Swedish company is going to buy computer gear from someone in Argentina.  The French spam is almost always for boutique goods, like vêtements and parfum and all that fucking French couture bullshit.  Why in hell I can't get good Scottish spam trying to sell me single malt, or good Kentuckian spam trying to sell me bourbon, I have absolutely no clue.

** Funeral notices generally aren't funny, but the funny part about this was that this particular notice came in right before a legitimate piece of mail from the local ARES group alerting hams in the area of a recent silent key whose funeral is on Saturday.  So it wasn't immediately clear that the thing was a phishing scam untll I realized that a legitimate notice of that type would, you know, have the name of the recently deceased in it…
