My boss wins the Internets.

Today, in reference to the difference between Canadian French and Continental French, he noted that he was surprised in a particular case to see that Canadians were using a piece of bureaucratese that was identical to what the French would use.  He said that he had expected the idiom used by the Canadians to be somewhat different, “considering that the last joint level set was in 1763.”

I flat out LOL’ed when I read that.
