…manufactured by Hon Hai (Foxconn) in China.
I think if I see any more of Apple’s two-page ads in the WSJ I’m going to start writing letters to the editor to that effect. When I ordered my iPad Mini back in January — the only piece of Apple kit that I own, or even contemplate owning — it was shipped direct from China.
Which killed me a little, because I figured they’d send the order to the local Apple Store and the locals would send it out. Or even to a regional Apple warehouse somewhere in the States. But apparently Apple would rather hand online orders off to a “just in time” supplier overseas rather than fill them out of actual onshore stock.
I wonder if that rang up as a US sale, or an offshore sale?
