Baen. Science Fiction book mavens.

How can they have such a crappy website?

I just went to buy the ebook of Monster Hunter: Legion.  So I clicked on the book on the main baen.com page, which took me to the book’s page on baenebooks.com, then clicked the “ebook” button in the “Order your copy” box in the sidebar.  That should have taken me to webscription net (why do they have so many fucking separate websites?), and indeed it did, but only to say:

That Product could not be found. This is the topic Named: Productnotfound. You edit this in the ADMIN site.

Bless their hearts.

So, I go to the sidebar, scroll down to “Authors” and “Larry Correia” (and BTW, could you POSSIBLY make the font smaller?  I have to wear readers as it is, folks), click on Larry’s name, and then scroll halfway down the page (why?  It’s his newest release!) to find the book I want.  (Oh, and that took me back to baenebooks.com.  Isn’t that special?)

So now I can actually buy the fucking book, after three websites and a bunch of clicking and scrolling around.

I don’t know who runs Baen’s website and I don’t know why they don’t sell ebooks through Amazon (although I suspect it’s because they don’t like the way Amazon prices ebooks), but dudes, I would never, ever use your website if your ebooks were available on Amazon.  If you’re truly serious about the Internet, please fire your existing web dudes and hire new ones who have a clue.
