Yet liberals, by their inaction and for less good reason, have killed more people in the past century than the U.S. military have during the same period. Indeed, the U.S. military have often had to clean up messes initiated by liberal policies.

Particularly given that service members are required to follow their lawful orders. Yes, service members kill other human beings. Are police officers who kill other human beings illegitimate?
If one disagrees with the decisions of the President to pursue a particular policy, you should hold the President, not the troops responsible. Actually assuming that Professor Avery voted for Obama, then ultimately the responsibility rests on his shoulders.
I rarely agree with Elie Mystal, but this post of his is the most brilliant takedown of Professor Avery, made all the better by the fact that he has similar views of US Government actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
