Nancy Talanian, director of No More Guantanamos, said Amherst [MA] is a perfect spot to resettle the detainees because the town has a history of welcoming refugees.
“They have a good network of volunteers (who) would probably willing to step up to the plate to make sure (detainees) have the necessities,” Talanian said.

The Town Meeting members will begin voting on proposed articles Nov. 2, although it’s unclear when members will vote on the Guantanamo measure.
If they have any sense, it will be referred to committee for further discussion and die a quiet and deserved death.
