or does this seem like the perfect time for the Wisconsin GOP to start pushing a constitutional amendment to remove the recall power from the Wisconsin state constitution?
Bet you could get a majority to vote for it.

Imagine your party of choice crafting legislation that would punish their (your) opponent? One that would bring them to their knees. Now imagine that same piece of legislation being used against you or your party of choice. That's what I thought, not such a good idea, is it?
The recall power is a lousy idea; there are other ways to negate a bad governor, like tie his hands with a legislature of the other party two years down the line (at the national level, think Bill Clinton and the Republican Revolution in 1994). In addition, it's pretty clear that the recall was abused mightily in this case by the left and the unions. So why not admit that it probably isn't useful, and fraught with opportunities for abuse, and get rid of it?
Besides, I don't know Wisconsin's rules on constitutional amendments, but if they're like we are in Indiana, it has to pass both houses of the legislature and then survive two consecutive plebescites. It shouldn't be easy to amend a constitution but at the same time you have to have a legislature that's willing to consider it before the people even get a chance to vote.
And I think you are more than a bit overwrought. There's nobody bringing anybody to their knees, and no intention of doing so in my musing. Perhaps you are a Democrat?
