Went out to breakfast this morning and parked next to a running Prius.
Yeah. Sitting there running, heater on, keeping itself warm -- and nobody in the car.
I thought one bought a Prius for economy. Leaving one running while nobody is using it sure doesn't suggest economy to me.
My beat up old PT Cruiser is a more environmentally friendly car than that Prius. I leave it sitting in the driveway, almost all the time. And on the very rare occasion that it's running and I'm not behind the wheel, I'm scraping the windows. And I don't remember the last time I was idling in line at the drive through.
If I were a betting man, I'd say it was owned by a lib, in which case they bought it to make them feel like they were making the scene green.
