The innerurban failed around 75 years ago because people did not use it. That was a time when the population was more urban and more concentrated than it is now. There was also fewer cars and viable roads and highways.

I visit Portland Oregon several times a year. I sit in my hotel near the airport and watch empty train after empty train go by. You would think the airport would be a popular destination for mass transit. One can see similar empty trains in all parts of the city.

This will be another boondogle we will all have to pay for an no one will use.
