Sadly there are no grownups in Washington DC. The best we could do in 2010 is get the House controlled by (fairly responsible) teenagers. Which is an improvement over the tantrums of a bunch of two year olds, but still not good enough.
Dave, I've lived in Washington DC. I know there are no grownups there. Why do you suppose I moved back to Indiana? :)
The grownups to whom I allude, and who will ultimately solve this problem, are not in glittery elite Washington. They're out here among the yeoman citizenry.
