Pleading? How plebian.

WTF?

Outraged nutritionists, cafeteria managers and parents are pleading with public health officials to keep chocolate milk in schools as the state prepares to issue tough new food regulations that could eliminate the flavored drink.

Pleading?

PLEADING?

I'd be in there DEMANDING. At tar-feathers-rail-rope-point, if necessary. Fuck those public health officials, THEY WORK FOR YOU.

Besides, I like chocolate milk. And what I see coming is an illegal chocolate milk trade in Massachusetts public schools.

"Dude, I need a hit. That white milk is, like, boring."

"Dude. I scored some primo Nesquik® from Mom. Only five dollars per teaspoon."

"Sweet, man. I'll take a nickel bag."

"Tell your friends where you got it, and I'll give you a cut rate next time."

Idiocy. It's time to go to the barricades to protect our childrens' right to drink chocolate milk. Among other things.

H/T.

If childhood obesity is that big a problem, it's time to do something about it that doesn't cost the taxpayers money. Make the kids walk to and from school.

Just make them exercise during the day, like the experts quoted in the linked articles advocate.

Besides which, there isn't enough chocolate in chocolate milk to significantly raise the caloric or fat content. (Unless you make it the way my wife does, with half a container of Hershey's syrup.) I'd rather see the kids drinking chocolate milk if that's what it takes to get them to drink milk in the first place.
