I'm sure my mother -- the retired teacher and member of ISTA -- applauds this. But that really triggers cognitive dissonance in me. My mother would never let us buy things we couldn't afford (and still tries to run my financial life today, even though I'm over 50 and have been running it myself for years). Yet she doesn't seem to understand that when times are tough, the state MUST tighten its belt and put a stop to things like public sector unions that insist on untenable salaries and benefits.
It's high time to break the public sector unions and restore sanity. Demoncraps need to grow up and quit throwing tantrums about it.
Things are even more interesting in my family. Our town has some great elementary schools, and my wife teaches in one. They are rated in the highest category by the state. After elementary schools things aren't so great though.
What almost surprises me is that my wife is wondering what we would do if we had a junior high or high school student in the family.
