I have said it before and I will say it again: Dick Lugar needs to retire — or be retired — in 2012.
At this point I don't even care if he's beaten by a Democrat; at least I'd understand something like this from a Democrat.
Senator Lugar, you have sat too long for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!
I'll be voting against him in the primary.
So now the story is that he said he'd vote for the ban if it came up, but that he didn't expect it to.
