Yesterday afternoon, between the time my wife went shopping and came home, someone knocked down our mailbox. I'm guessing some moron, probably in a pick-em-up truck, crowded the side of the road to try to avoid the speed bump and got it with his mirror.
Did said moron bother to stop and make some sort of restitution?

Luckily this happened while the stores were still open, and I've been wanting to replace that box and post anyway (it's been mauled six or eight times since Dad put it up back in the '90's -- one time, actually after Dad died, I caught the little fucker and his butt buddy who were going down the street bashing boxes with a ball bat -- so we ran over to Lowe's and got a new Rubbermaid one and I installed it this morning.
Damn good thing the ground hasn't had a chance to freeze yet.

And yeah, maybe that was a little harsh. But I'd spent time crawling around in the attic the day before and my body was not looking forward to more physical labor.
