I hope this arthritis med isn't causing an allergic reaction.

Per my post below, I've been taking 1000mg of Nabumetone (the generic for Relafen) since last Friday for arthritis.

A few days ago my hands and feet started itching like nobody's business. Since I was also taking amoxicillin in conjunction with a root canal I had done last week, I figure I'm allergic to the amoxicillin -- but I stopped taking the Nabumetone just in case. The itching went away over the last couple of days and I was going to restart the Nabumetone tomorrow night (mostly the itching manifested itself at night, I have no idea why, so I figured if I went two nights without a problem, I could start the Nabumetone and then I'd know which drug caused the problem.)

But I hurt so effing bad today that I restarted it at lunchtime. And my joints already feel better.

I sure hope this isn't yet another wonder drug I turn out to be allergic to. But since I'm already allergic to a number of other antibiotics, I would not be at all surprised that amoxicillin is joining the list, and that Nabumetone isn't the culprit.

Reading this makes me feel better about my screwed up back.
Let me know how it turns out. And considering I have a friend down here who sounds like he and you have the same issues, you do have my pity.
Cause I know he hurts.

Seems to have been the amoxicillin. I've been back on the nabumetone for two days now and the itching has continued to subside.

But then I went to the range yesterday and 100 rounds of .45ACP were enough to make the shoulder pretty sore.

Sigh.
