This blog contains unrestrained rantage, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive harm, exposure to which can be avoided by moving the hell out of California to where the rest of us know better.

Um, you don't think the disappearance of MJ's body has anything to do with wanting warnings posted on hot dog passages, do you?
Anyway, I was reviewing my cassette of the Dr. Demento program from Sept 25, 1988 (KFOG 104.5 FM). There are lots of variations keeping the MJ legacy alive. Weird Al Yankovic corrected the MJ covers on his stellar "Eat it!" and "I;m Fat!" Bud LaTour renders "The Way You Make Me Squeal!" with passion and verve (". . . you sexy, sexy sow . . .).
There were other MJ honors, but these three outdid even "Squirrels" (unreleased tape, I didn't catch the artist) and "Homecoming QUeen's Got a Gun!" by Julie Brown. You may recall another Julie Brown number that inspired the movie, "Earth Girls are Easy" with Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, and Gina Davis - and Julie Brown's cameo performance of her "Cause I'm Blonde" (. . . As long as I keep this blonde and I keep these tanned . . .).
As MJ follows other self-medicated wannabe's into the sunset, at least we have a body of work to carry us through the next few hours. Do you know where I can find the sheet music to MJ's last relevant and well performed piece, "Ben"?
