The guys who recruited him to Iowa State were fired after a few years of streetballers from NYC embarrassing the university...Tinsley was relatively well-behaved but not much of a student (not that anyone expected him to be, but that's for another day). So I was kind of surprised at his recent notoriety, but all the articles mention his brother, his friends from where he grew up--shades of Mike Vick "keepin' it real."
I thought there might be an internal re-examination of the hip-hop/street/urban culture after Darrent Williams was killed, but apparently that wasn't enough.
