Sorry…

Too many Christmas parties. And not nearly enough of them with decent booze 🙁
From noon Tuesday, I’m on vacation for three weeks. I’ll most likely still be hacking (in the good sense of the word) and blogging 🙂 since I don’t really know how to take a vacation. Sally isn’t taking one at the same time so she won’t be able to force me to turn off the computer…

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

A little Fox News trifecta.
Good: Pearl Suspect May Have Died
Bad: U.S. Still Too Vulnerable to Terrorists
Ugly: Man Gets 12 Years in Prison for Throwing Dog 23 Floors
(Geez, what is it about dogs lately? I don’t care for them personally but I’d never mess with them the way al-Qaeda, the Peruvian Army, and apparently this butthead have. In this case 12 years was too lenient; he should have been thrown off the same balcony.)

People are sick

Is this unbelieveable or what?
Police: Ohio Woman Faked Daughter’s Cancer

URBANA, Ohio — Police said a woman fooled her 7-year-old daughter and residents into thinking the child had leukemia to get donations, shaving the girl’s head and giving her sleeping pills to make it appear she was receiving chemotherapy.

You have to get up pretty late at night to even approach being this sick. And I find it really difficult to believe that the husband didn’t know.

Eat your loaves, or we’ll feed you to the fishes

Malvo finds jail loaves to loathe

Fairfax County Sheriff Stan Berry said yesterday that if sniper suspect John Lee Malvo doesn’t like his jail’s vegetable loaf, the 17-year-old prisoner can eat the nonvegetarian meals served to the rest of the inmates.
But he shouldn’t expect customized meals.
“When you go to jail you lose a lot of choices, and what you eat is one of those choices you lose,” Sheriff Berry said.

Personally I say starve his sorry ass to death.
