Seriously stupid

I mean, come on, de-legalize marriage?
Just because 3% of the population is gay and has no legal marriage prospects?
Give me a break. When I was single, I certainly wasn’t concerned about getting married because of the perks I would supposedly get. Now that I am married, I’d like to ask plaintiffs if they’ve heard about the “marriage tax”. That sure ain’t no perk.
Marriage is smiled on by the state because it promotes (supposedly) stable relationships that produce more little taxpayers.
The ease of divorce is most likely one of the reasons why traditional marriage is in such disarray these days. It’s too easy to fall in love, get married, have kids, and decide the bastard (or bitch) you married isn’t worth living with for the rest of your life. In the old days, when divorce was stigmatized, people approached marriage with a bit more seriousness.
Put another way, today it’s far too common for people to marry and then divorce because “they weren’t right for each other”. In the old days, you bloody well made up your mind that you were right for each other, because if you weren’t, it was far too much trouble to sunder the bonds that no one but God was supposed to be able to sunder.
The fact is, the bulk of today’s young people ain’t got no damn sense when it comes to marriage. It’s all about sex and all about “what’s in it for me”.
