Bravo, Hootie! Ms. Burk’s ignorance is astounding. The Masters is not now and never has been a public event. Playing in the tournament is by invitation only.
Should the PGA Tour decide to aquiesce and not recognize the Masters as an “official” Tour event is immaterial. The tournament will continue. It will also continue whether it is televised or not.
