No, he didn’t deserve better. If he wanted better then he should have retired. And that would have capped an “honorable” career. If you believe it was honorable. The last couple of terms certainly haven’t been.
So instead of that honorable retirement, now he’s the guy who lost trying to con the voters into giving him a seventh term. Sucks to be him.
