My personal response would have been to step outside with a shotgun, say, “Y’all get the fuck off my lawn!”, and then, when they didn’t budge, ask “Who’s first?” and violate Rule 2. (Well, wouldn’t really be a violation, because I’d certainly be willing to destroy at that point.)
BUT (and this is something all the commenters to that post seem to have missed), it is damn near impossible to get a gun permit in the People’s Republic of Maryland…and indeed, even the possession of a working single-shot .410 shotgun when I lived there in ’95 made me an unknowing and inadvertent violator of their gun laws. So I would imagine the SEIU felt pretty safe invading a quiet neighborhood in Rockville.
Amazing (well, not really, that’s hyperbole under the current regime) that this story hasn’t made any of the MSM. Fox had a video here on Friday, but it doesn’t appear to be available anymore. Fox also had this.

Personally, I’d recommend that Mr. Baer move his family to Northern Virginia. And buy himself a Mossberg 500 pump in 12ga., and teach the boy to use it.
