I have long maintained that if my wife would just listen to Rush Limbaugh for one show, she would realize that he really is just a big warm fuzzy creature who believes that government is too intrusive in our lives and that adherence to conservative principles is the only way to preserve our freedoms (well, the ones we have left, anyway).
I listen to Rush occasionally and I don’t always agree with everything he says. On the other hand, I find myself totally unable to listen to Sean Hannity, or Mark Levin, or pretty much any of the other conservative talk radio hosts. Even locally I can’t bring myself to listen to Garrison, because at least once during every one of his shows I have ever listened to, I’ve wanted to beat his head in with a ball bat for saying something incredibly stupid.
Comes now this blogger who posts on his failed attempts to get liberals to listen at least one time to Rush. (Via.)
He makes the same argument I do: How can you say he’s a no-talent idiot if you’ve never listened to him?
Which is exactly what Sally says: He’s an idiot, he’s a joke, I don’t like him, ok, yeah, he has cats, that sort of redeems him but not enough to make me listen to him.
But you’ve never listened to him. How do you know?
I just know.
Because you’re a liberal brought up by liberals.
Maybe.
And you’re so closeminded about anything but your own liberal values and ways of thinking that you can’t bring yourself to listen to three hours of Rush Limbaugh just to see if maybe you might be wrong about him.
Yes. But that’s not a very nice way of putting it.
Basically, you’re afraid he’s right and he’d make you have to take an uncomfortable look at yourself and all you hold to be right and true.
Fuck you.
*sigh*
I married her.

I ain’t sayin’ a word.
I agree with much, not all, that Rush says, BUT!, his voice and arogance annoys the everluvingbejeebus outta me! I think it’s the arogance, mostley. It still needs to be said though.
Yeah, YOU married her! 😉
If you don’t get that what you think is arrogance isn’t simply a master voice stylist making you think it’s arrogance, then you need to listen harder.
I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one married to one of those! I constantly reminded myself of my husband’s many virtues. It’s just that open-mindedness isn’t one of them.
I’ve listened to Rush, and I agree with him far more than I disagree with him. Rush certainly has a lot of confidence, which is a necessary trait in his field. To some who don’t agree with him, it is easy to see that confidence as arrogance.
Arrogance? that’s the utterest bullshit. it’s Arrogance if you say you can do something and cannot. if you say you can do something, and you CAN, it’s just pride. God bless pride.
Yeah. As Rush says, quoting The Bambino, “It ain’t braggin’ if ya c’n do it.”
