Indianapolis Metro Police continue to search for those responsible for attempting to rob a northside business and the attempted carjacking of a passerby that left the driver wounded.
Sgt. Matt Mount says two suspects have been arrested only in connection to the robbery at Famous Dave’s BBQ on Vincennes Road, north of 86th and Michigan.
Mount says four black males entered the restaurant with guns, but fled when employees and patrons caused a scene and fled.
Two suspects fled in a black 2007 Chevy pick-up truck, while the other two suspects fled on foot.
The two men in the vehicle were apprehended, questioned and subsequently arrested. 26-year-old Alonzo Harris and 27-year-old Jason Hatchett are charged with attempted robbery.
The two suspects who fled on foot fired shots at woman in her vehicle in an alleged attempt to carjack her. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and drove herself to the hospital.
Police continue to search for those two suspects. Mount says there is no physical description of the two suspects at large.
There are four guys who are damn lucky nobody in the place pulled out a concealed weapon.
If I ever needed an excuse to carry, right there was one.
Anyway, from what I heard on the radio just now, the “scene” that was created was a bunch of people hauling out cell phones and dialing 911. Given the general clientele of BBQ joints, I profess myself surprised that nobody hauled out any artillery…
