Another Beth White disaster

Remember last week when I said we were going to early vote on Saturday?
Didn’t happen. There must have been a bazillion people lined up to vote. There was no way in hell I was going to stand in that line when I can go to my own precinct on Tuesday and probably nip in and out pretty quickly.
So we went over there today at lunch time, my wife being of the opinion (which I did not share) that it might be easier to get in during the day. Guess again. The line was clear out past the football field; we estimated it at about 2 hours long.
The other day, Beth White admitted that the budget for early voting had been busted because her office had badly underestimated the potential turnout. Yeah. Because if they’d estimated it correctly, they might even have had more satellite voting sites, like one east and one west in addition to one north and one south.
Isn’t it time to replace our County Clerk at the earliest opportunity? Preferably with a Republican who actually knows what he or she is doing, like Doris Anne Sadler did? Thankfully, we have only two years left before we can be rid of White, unless of course she’s convicted of malfeasance in office between now and then. Or maybe just run out of office on a rail, if this election is as screwed up as it’s beginning to look like it may be.
