Economy

Just drove from Indy to DC today, and I have only one question.
If the economy is in the tank, and consumers aren’t buying stuff, why are there so GODDAMN MANY TRUCKS FULL OF MERCHANDISE ON THE FUCKING HIGHWAY?
Just asking.

  1. Did you take the turnpike or take I-79 south to I-68 over to 70? It’s about equidistant, but without the tole charge. I prefer avoiding the turnpike and it’s a nicer drive. But that’s just my opinion.

  2. Honestly, when I started driving out here 15 years ago, I was advised to take the National Freeway because it was a) not toll and b) a better road. But it seemed like it took forever, and I wasn’t thrilled with the long steep grades. So about 13 years ago I started taking the turnpike, and even when it was badly choked due to construction, I felt like I was making better time. I would imagine that I haven’t been on the National Freeway more than two or three times in the last decade.
