Fred was serious. The others, not so much.

The people who dis Fred as being unserious, lazy, slow, and all that other crapola that’s been flung at him ever since he announced his candidacy simply don’t see the big picture.
Fred was the only grownup in the race. He didn’t need to make a splash, because his ideas spoke for themselves, at least to people who were listening. He was the only one who stood his ground and said that conservative principles were winners and did not need to be compromised. The jerks who are left are a bunch of opportunists and RINOs. Not to be maudlin about it, but Fred was (and remains) the only legitimate heir to the Reagan legacy in the bunch.
I don’t want a president who’s everything to everybody. I want a grownup who applies conservative principles to the way he runs the Executive Branch. Romney isn’t the guy, McCain isn’t, Giuliani isn’t, Huckabee is an asshole, and Ron Paul is a dangerous racist crackpot who shouldn’t even be considered a Republican. There’s just nobody left.
The Republican Party will continue to get “NOT ONE DIME” from this conservative (although I will contribute to individuals such as Jon Elrod who are actually worth the money) and they can stop sending me solicitations for same.
LATER: C’mon. Tell me you don’t want this bunch of cuties for your First Family.
