Josh Gillespie wants help getting McCain on the ballot in Indiana, but he closes comments to his post asking for said help.
It’s like he doesn’t want anyone telling him what a loon McCain is. But all I would have said was:
Fred Thompson for President!

If you checked out my personal blog (not Hoosier Access), you find that I am indeed a FredHead. I closed comments b/c I know people have strong feelings about the candidates and I was looking for volunteers, not verbal abuse. You get enough verbal abuse just collecting signatures. I can only imagine what it’s like for people collecting signatures for Ron Paul.
As for McCain, he is a company client and I’m happy to help the Senator get on the ballot. I even asked permission from the other Directors to see if I could seek volunteers from Hoosier Access. I would have loved to help Fred too, but it doesn’t look he’ll get too far, sadly.
Btw, you may or may not remember, but Fred Thompson endorsed Senator McCain for president in 2000. Could he do it again? I wouldn’t be surprised.
I’m damn glad I don’t work for people who have politicians for clients, because I couldn’t be personally pulling for one and have to work for another.
And clearly FDT has reconsidered his 2000 endorsement by the simple expedient of running. McCain is a trainwreck waiting to happen.
I wouldn’t count FDT out just yet. Just because it looks like Huckabee has won Iowa doesn’t mean the Huckster will go any farther. The guy is an empty suit.
But the real story there is Giuliani. Ron Paul beats Giuliani? By a significant margin (10% vs 4%)? That alone ought to tell us the real worth of Iowa, which is to say, it couldn’t be worth less. I’ll wait for New Hampshire and South Carolina before I write Fred off.
