Bank Leumi in Israel is pimping a new credit card for the ultra-Orthodox that doesn’t work on the Sabbath and can’t be used in shops that don’t observe the Sabbath.
This is possibly the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. If you’re Orthodox, you’re not out shopping on the Sabbath to start with. And you probably are fully aware who the merchants are who aren’t observant. (If you’re not, I’m sure your rebbe will tell you.)
And on top of all that, what stops you from getting a credit card that doesn’t have these restrictions?
Dumb. But so typical of Israel.
