I found this interesting. H/T Instapundit.
The fact is that no woman should be dictating how any boy of any age should behave. I believe this aberration is due directly to the disappearance of men (well, real men, not metrosexual men, who are just as bad as females when it comes to role-modeling for boys) from the teaching profession. (Of course, I also have friends who believe that the decline of chivalry is also directly responsible for this kind of thing, and I can’t say I disagree with that assessment, either.)
Reverse the situation and tell me how many women would stand for a man telling their daughter how to act. Had I gotten married early enough to have kids, I wouldn’t have minded having tomboy daughters, as long as they knew how to clean up and behave in public, e.g., for church or other semi-formal or formal occasions. But if I’d been a male teacher, I couldn’t have told my girl students that; I’d have been run out of the professsion.
Frankly, no matter what my wife says today, any kids we’d have had would have been home-schooled at least through the 8th grade. What is done to children in the public schools today is not teaching, it’s child abuse.
