There oughta be a rule

on the internets that says, concisely, “If I didn’t ask for advice, that means I don’t want it.”

Oh, wait.  There is.

The correct way to punctuate a sentence that states: “Of course it is none of my business, but — ” is to place a period after the word “but.” Don’t use excessive force in supplying such a moron with a period. Cutting his throat is only a momentary pleasure and is bound to get you talked about.

Thank you, Robert Anson Heinlein (pbuh) for anticipating the Internet and social media by half a century.  And I admit cheerfully that I have been on both sides of that situation, and hereby apologize to all whom I may have annoyed thereby in the past.

Bobbi, I hope you feel better soon, at least for values of “feel better”.  I’ve been a migraine sufferer since I was 13, escalating from a few times a year to a few times a week when I was in my 30’s, and tapering off through my 40’s to where I’m back to only a few a year, if that.  It’s no fun.
