I’m still irked with Verizon, but I decided I’d fox them at least for the rest of my contract term. I bought an unlocked Droid Bionic, which was the phone I was planning to upgrade to anyway, off of eBay for about $200 less than the full price of the phone at Verizon. While that was still a lot of money, I’m no stranger to paying an outrageous price for a phone; I bought a Palm Treo 955p755p the very first day it was available, and paid more than what I paid for the Bionic.
Anyway, I went to the Verizon store last night to get a SIM card for it (which Verizon will give you free; don’t be fooled by assholes on Amazon etc. who will sell them to you for $3 and up) and they quite graciously agreed to activate it for me at the same time. So at least until November I’m still on my old plan with unlimited data — but now in 4G instead of 3G, and with a much better phone than my old LG Ally.
