Drove out to the Water Feature of Large Wingspread Diurnal Raptors this morning bright and early. Shot up 200rds of .45ACP and 200rds of 9mm Luger. I like the Bersa. Don’t particularly like loading the mags but I bought a SuperThumb to help with that and it works pretty well. Need to pick up some JHP for it now that I’ve familiarized. (I feel a lot better about the decocking safety now. At least I know it works.)
The 1911 is developing a bit of a tic. The slide isn’t locking back on an empty mag every time. I actually have one mag that it happened three times with; don’t know if the mag had anything to do with it but it sure happened every time I used it. The hammer also intermittently doesn’t lock all the way back between rounds. One of the RSOs and I were talking about it and came to the conclusion that the sear spring is probably weak and needs replacement.
Had fun. Am working hard on my very BAD habit of locking my left thumb behind my right thumb, which habit one of these days is going to get me hurt if I don’t break myself of it. Another one of the RSOs speculated that perhaps I’d shot revolvers before…nope. Never shot a wheel gun.
By the time I left people were queueing up for the lanes. Good to see lots of folks out banging around.

Let me know the next time you go. I need to get some range time in, and there’s nothing on our side of town.
After the election we can use old Melina Kennedy broadsheets for targets.
LOL!
