I just put this together so our niece Heather will have somewhere to store her clothes when she’s staying with us this summer.
Gratuitous image of kitten chasing ceiling fan pull that he can’t reach included at no charge.
Yes, it’s a Sauder armoire, the cheap model. And I like to killed myself getting it into the house, unpacking it, and building it up in an area not much bigger than it is to begin with…’cause you know, once you build one of these things, you don’t move it again. Ever. (Well, maybe oncet or twicet, if you’re a Hoosier.)
250 pounds on a 5’8″ frame is not a good thing. Of course I also cut the back 40 this morning so I was a little pooped from that to start with.
When I went out to the furniture place to pick up the armoire, it was a good excuse to wander into Gander Mountain and see if they had any .410 shells for 3″ chamber. Hah! They had some for 2-1/2″ but that was about it.
Did see a Mauser M1895 sitting all forlorn in their used guns section. Also saw a nice Mossberg 500 in 20ga that had me thinking.
Then I drove over to Dick’s to see if they had any .410. Wash, rinse, repeat, but even less than Gander had. Damn it.
(Oh, and why did we need an armoire for Heather? Because the walk-in closet in this room is filled with our stuff. And my dad’s stuff. And some of my mom’s and sister’s stuff. Arghh.)
