I’ve had enough

George Bush just jumped the shark for me. (H/T: Mark Krikorian. “Who’s he work for again?”, indeed.)

MERIDA, Mexico – President Bush, working to rebuild strained U.S.-Mexico relations, promised Tuesday he would do his best to get a deeply divided U.S. Congress to change American immigration policies that are hated south of the border.
“My pledge to you and your government, but more important to the people of Mexico, is I’ll work as hard as I possibly can to pass comprehensive immigration reform,” Bush said during a sun-splashed arrival ceremony that opened two days of meetings with Mexican President Felipe Calder in this Yucatan Peninsula tourist haven.

Thank God he’s only got another couple of years left. Next thing you know he’ll be opening the border to any country south of it, not just Mexico.
Mexico needs to get its own house in order, and if the way to do that is to close the border and force Mexico to deal with its own people, so be it.
Frankly I don’t give a damn if the Mexicans hate us. A big wall and vigorous immigration enforcement — not “catch and release”, but “catch and dump over the big wall”, will prevent that from being a problem, and they can turn that hate toward their own ruling kleptocracy.
And while we’re at it, Muslims can find another place to live, too. Much as I like shopping at Target, I can live without them if they refuse to do anything about this. The Salvation Army business I didn’t have a problem with; I’m not a big fan of being solicited for charity anywhere and by anyone when I’m trying to shop. This is different; it’s insidious and a quick stop needs to be put to it.
