because Alli asked, but I normally do not. I happen to like this particular one.
One book that changed your life.
Actually…Atlas Shrugged. It made me a conservative at 16. On the other hand, once I grew up (i.e., got past about 25), I understood that Rand, like her books, was completely full of shit, and, like most of her protagonists, entirely off her rocker. But I suppose growing up in the Soviet Union might make one that way.
One book that you have read more than once.
Just one? I guess I’d have to go with LotR, but I’ve read so many books multiple times it’s hard to pick just the one. Starship Troopers comes to mind as an alternate.
One book that you would want on a desert island.
The SAS Survival Guide.
One book that made you laugh.
Up Front by Bill Mauldin.
One book that made you cry
Up Front by Bill Mauldin.
One book you wish had been written.
Evil Geniuses for Dummies.

The Koran. Or, hmm, can I make it two? The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
One book you are currently reading.
Fields of Battle, by John Keegan.
One book you have been meaning to read.
Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant. Volume 1 is on my nightstand.
I will not ask five other people to do this.
