all this enforced restfulness has got me 7-1/2 books into Patrick O’Brian’s Master and Commander series. We saw the movie several weeks ago and when the in-laws gave me a $100 Borders gift certificate I immediately ran out and bought the first 7. We were out again today and I bought 5 more. I’m currently reading “The Ionian Mission”.
Really, really good stuff. I never was much for seafaring books, much preferring science fiction. But O’Brian is a genius. Only 12 books more after this one.
