For my 500th post: Tom Daschle, Blithering Idiot

I just caught about 20 seconds of Tom Daschle hacking it up for the press on Fox, a few minutes ago. Ol’ Tom was saying something about how the administration needs a new plan (I assume economic) and needs to get that plan out there, et cetera.
Hopefully the Republicans won’t fall for this. It’s a classic bluff; Daschle wants to see the Republican plan because, well, ya know, the fact is,
THE DEMOCRATS DON’T HAVE A FUCKING PLAN!
In a democratic republic with a loyal (we’re postulating) opposition, it is normally the duty of the loyal (still postulating) opposition to point out the faults of the Government and suggest alternative approaches to government policies.
Our DemocRATS are very good at the former, and very cagey about the latter. If Daschle were serious about the economy, he’d be trotting out Democratic economists left and right with proposals. In this entire election cycle I haven’t seen the Democrats put anything concrete on the table; all they’ve done is whine about how tax cuts don’t help and Bush is leading us into the abyss. Daschle is, therefore, not serious about the economy; Q.E.D.
Well, I say, time to put up or shut up, DemocRATS. Either advance some serious economic proposals or SHUT THE FUCK UP. Not that you’ll be in any shape to contend in 2004, the rate you’re going. You’ve lost the momentum on the war, and you’ve lost the momentum on the economy. And I imagine your girl in Louisiana won the cemetery vote in New Orleans, so there.
