Will no one rid me of this turbulent fowl?

Just when you thought the Homeland Security bill had a chance to pass:

Only one sticking point remains and that is whether Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., will stymie the legislation by filibustering it. A filibuster could be overcome by a 60-vote move to cut off debate. Byrd has long opposed the homeland security bill, saying it gives too much power to the president.

It’s long past time for WV to diselect this disgusting old man.

  1. “WILL NO ONE RID ME OF THIS TURBULENT FOWL?”
This alone makes your blog worth reading. 😀
Seriously, why in the world would West Virginia retire the old bastard? He brings back megapork for the half of one percent of the nation’s tax burden that state bears. If he ever dies they’ll try to elect his frozen head for God’s sake.

  2. And he’s going to get megapork out of this Congress? How? 🙂
My guess is that he’ll be retiring next time his term is up. Or even before. If I were the Senate Republicans I would make a very pointed effort to make his political life a living hell in return for his obstructionism and plain old assholishness over the past two years. I’d make damn sure he didn’t get a moment of respect if I could help it. Congress doesn’t need scum like this.
