Holy crap. I filled the humidifier in my office about an hour ago and the stupid cutoff valve FAILED on me...resulting in a gallon of water all over the floor.
Well, I guess that will teach me not to file things down there. Luckily it got mostly stuff I was going to shred anyway...but I had ammo in the cabinet underneath and some of the boxes got wet. Damn it. Again, though, luckily most of those were the old 8mm Mauser cartridges Dad had lying around, and they're stored in plastic trays, so the only thing that got wet was the cardboard. (Same with the couple of boxes of .45ACP that were dampened.)
That on top of a power outage at 0633 (came back on at 0720) that had me scrambling to shut down computers before their associated UPSes ran out of juice. I actually intended to sleep in this morning after sitting up till after 1AM reading. So much for that. Too much to do today to go back and nap.
