Instapundit noted an article about a 9th grader who posted on social media a photo of his substitute teacher snoozing on company time, said student now being in "hot water" over this.
Insty observed: "One argument in favor of public education is that it teaches students lessons about government early. That certainly happened here."
Yes...and the lesson taught was "Snitches get thrown under the bus." Instead of the teacher being fired and the student being lionized for reporting it, the teacher probably just got reassigned and the student is now suspended.
The school's response? Not "The teacher was clearly in the wrong and is being punished for his misdeed, and we applaud the student for bringing this to our attention." But rather,
[School district spokeswoman Mary] Leaver said it was against school policy for students to use their cell phones during the day.
Yeah, and she probably would have told those guys on Flight 93 to stop using their cell phones in mid-flight, too.
