Instapundit notes: Public Optimism in U.S. System of Government Hits a 36-year Low
ABC/Yahoo News poll sez only 33% are optimistic about "our system of government and how well it works". Compare to 54% who said the same after Nixon and Watergate.
The problem is that the poll is meaningless. It's like saying you're optimistic that the gun isn't loaded. What's at issue isn't the gun (or the system), but rather the person who's holding it (or running it).
I'm firmly optimistic about our system of government as set forth in the Constitution. I'm completely fed up with the people who are running it and misinterpreting the Constitution for fun and profit. Big difference.
