Well, that was interesting.

The plane came in to our secure undisclosed location yesterday afternoon, and I was thinking, wow, the captain is coming in pretty hot, but the landing was superb...even though it took a while to get stopped. And when we got stopped, we stopped.

Sat there on the tarmac for about five minutes, figuring that they were waiting for a gate.

Captain came on the PA. "Um, hi folks, well, we're waiting for a tow to the gate. Well, I'll just go ahead and tell you, about 15 minutes out we lost control of two fuel pumps, and we're now unable to taxi to the gate. So we're waiting for a tractor to come out and tow us over to the gate. That should happen in 5 to 10 minutes."

Girl behind us: "Well, I didn't need to know that."

45 minutes after we landed, we arrived at the gate. I could have walked faster than they were towing the plane.

Anyway, the captain was standing at the door with the flight attendants. He looked pretty sheepish, so I smiled and said "Good job!" Hope he felt better. After all, any landing you walk away from is a good one.

Guess our numbers weren't up :)
