The laptop was running nicely with Windows 7 x64, but I had to revert back to the old disk and XP over the weekend because I found out that Palm does not support my Treo 755p under the 64-bit architecture. Which is really fucking dumb, because technically there should be no reason why the 32-bit driver couldn't be installed under 64-bit Windows. Or why Palm couldn't write a 64-bit driver and put up one last firmware upgrade for the Treos.
I don't so much sync my Treo with my laptop (although that would be a problem with my workstation if I went to Windows 7 on it) but I have this neat piece of software (recommended by Og some time ago) called PDANet that lets me use my Treo as a broadband modem when I'm not in range of a wifi router.
So I guess this is my last Palm phone. I'm not really all that jazzed about the Pre. And I heard from a friend of mine who is also a Palm freak that the Blackberry is crap compared to his Palm 750 -- terrible keyboard and no touch screen on the one he just got at work. (Apparently he did not get one of the newer touch screen models.)
