Showed up this morning for the blogshoot...and the gates were locked and the police reserves were having a splendid time banging away.
Tam said this was two weeks in a row. A friendly officer outside the gate said that he thought this was the last time the range would be closed to the public during the day for awhile.
There was nothing on the range website -- admittedly not an official website, but what is the point of having the thing if it's not updated?
The range -- which sits on public park land -- is already closed to the public during the week for police officers' exclusive use.
Do they really need to hog it on the weekends, as well?
A polite but pointed letter is going to be sent to Indy Parks and the IMPD, and I'm going to cc: my councilman.
