You've seen and heard the "feed the pig" commercials the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is running on TV and radio, right? (Yeah, there's even a website; annoying sounds when it opens.)
AICPA wants us all to put away $100 per paycheck because Americans aren't saving enough. "Skip the toys" the one ad says.
Yet on the other hand, our government is going to "give" us $600 per taxpayer to go out and buy toys because the economy is in the tank. (I say "give" with quotes because the money is ours to begin with. The government is not in the position to "give" us "gifts".)
Mixed message, much?
Personally, we intend to invest our projected $1200 "gift" in our money-market savings account.
