The imams' behavior, and the followup by groups like CAIR, will only tend to support those who view American muslims as a threat. That's unfortunate.
American Muslims are absolutely a threat until they declare for one side or the other. Until then they are indeed a potential fifth column and Joe Average American has no reason to consider them anything else.
The so-called moderate Muslims in America need to speak out and take sides. Until they do, each and every one of them has the potential to wreak mayhem and they should be treated accordingly.
We don't ask for much in this country, but if you're an American citizen and a Muslim, you need to decide which is more important to you, and make your declaration for all to hear.
